I set out on a mission this morning. A mission that should have been taken care of days ago, but being I have more on my plate right now than I know what to do with this mission just had to wait. I was also at a total loss as to what to purchase on this mission for it was a shopping outing to find the perfect baby gift for my baby cousin Elizabeth’s baby shower. I had to enlist some help from my best friend Nicole. Being I don’t have a little bundle of joy running around just yet, and I wanted to do something different than the standard onesies, blankets, and stuffed toys I needed help. This mission would have been aborted and if not certainly would not have seen a successful end if it weren’t for Nicole. Thank you girl, I love you!! Two hours before a shower that was an hour drive away, I had successfully completed the mission placed before me. I had no time to spare I had to run home, try to make myself presentable in order to not completely embarrass my family, and put all these fun goodies together.
I think it was a success!
I was off to the country, and I will just toss it out there, this gal is a city girl through and through. Country and I we don’t get along all so well, which is rough being I have A LOT of family that resides in the country. But that is a discussion for a different day. I will however, give you a quick side bar………..A few years ago I was driving my brother and I to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for Thanksgiving, their quaint little house is just outside Pegs America, which for all you city folk, Pegs is near Tahlequah. Well we will just say my brother and I didn’t get to our destination in time for Thanksgiving dinner because I didn’t allow for the extra time it took for us to take the long way from Tulsa. You know the route, the one up through Vinita? Yes, we were lost on our way to a home I have been to more times than I can count. So with that said, I knew in order to get to Elizabeth’s on time I needed to make sure her address was programmed into my GPS. The only problem was my GPS did not so much want to show me the directions, nor did it even want to find the general area of where I was trying to go. After Mapquest came to my rescue I was on my way, and this city girl made it pretty far, within a mile of Elizabeth and Jon’s house before getting lost. Attention OK Department of Transportation, or whoever is in charge of road signs, don’t leave rural Oklahoma out. Okay, I digressed sorry. I had to call Elizabeth and get direction for the last mile………..I made it, fashionably late but there nonetheless.
We all had a great time……….
Eating yummy sweets.
Playing games.
Seeing all the fun exciting gifts little Camden received.
And seeing a glowing and growing mommy to be.
I had an amazing time spending quality time with my daddy’s side of the fam. I love spending time with family; it is the one constant in my wild crazy life. My family is a place where I find contentment, peace, and normally a lot of laughter. Thank you for letting me be a part of such a special time in your life. Love you!!
I will update my blog upon the arrival of Mr. Camden. If mommy has it her way, he will be here this week; we are all waiting with great anticipation.
Love Ya,
Jen
